A two-part workshop with Nance Klehm of Social Ecologies (socialecologies.net) exploring and implementing community bioremediation: the use of living organisms to safely break down, bind or remove harmful substances from soil, water, and manmade structures to restore optimum health conditions to animals, plants, people and communities.
Part 1: Friday, September 18, 6-9 pm. In this salon/presentation, Nance will introduce the four tools of community bioremediation and discuss citywide composting and soil making project The Ground Rules in Chicago.
Part 2: Saturday, September 19, 9 am-6 pm. This hands-on workshop will include land reading skills, how to read a soil test, and an installation at the site.
Register for one or both parts. Friday’s salon will include a potluck meal. For Saturday’s workshop, bring your own lunch; potluck dinner to follow.
